Baton Rouge General CEO Tenreiro to speak at Jan. 31 Press Club

Edgardo Tenreiro, Baton Rouge General president and CEO, will be the speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Jan. 31. Tenreiro will talk about how the pandemic accelerated change in the local healthcare sector and why its success is key in improving the Baton Rouge community.

Press Club meets on Mondays in the ballroom at the Drusilla Seafood Restaurant, which is located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. Lunch, which is a sit-down meal served at noon, is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

PAR President Procopio to speak at Jan. 24 Press Club

Steven Procopio, president of the Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana, known as PAR, will be the speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Jan. 24. Procopio will talk about Louisiana budget issues and redistricting. He will also provide a brief overview of what PAR does and what PAR plans to work on over the next year.

No Press Club on Jan. 17

The Press Club of Baton Rouge will not meet on Monday, Jan. 17, because of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Weekly luncheon meetings will resume on Jan. 24 at the Drusilla Seafood Restaurant. The speaker will be Steve Procopio, president of the Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana, known as PAR.


U.S. Senate candidate Luke Mixon will speak at Press Club on Jan. 10

Luke Mixon, candidate in the 2022 U.S. Senate election in which Republican John Kennedy is seeking a second term, will be the speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Jan. 10. Mixon, a Democrat from Bunkie, is a graduate of the Naval Academy and decorated veteran of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
