Mike Strain, commissioner of the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, will be the speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, July 6. Strain will discuss the state of Louisiana agriculture and the after effects of the legislative session. Press Club meets on Mondays in the Iberville Room at the Belle of Baton Rouge Hotel, which is located at 102 France St. Parking is free in the garage off Mayflower Street. Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers. He will talk about the action taken during the legislative session to address the state’s $1.6 billion deficit.
