LSU AgCenter Vice Chancellor John Russin and Vadim Kochergin, director of the Louisiana Biofuels and Bioprocessing Institute, will address the Press Club at noon Monday, Oct. 3.

Russin and Kochergin will discuss a $17.3 million grant the AgCenter received to develop the biofuels industry in Louisiana.

Press Club meets on Mondays at De La Ronde Hall, which is located at 320 Third St. in downtown Baton Rouge. Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $12 for members and $15 for non-members.

Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne will address the Press Club at noon Monday, Sept. 26.

Dardenne and Nungesser, who is Plaquemines Parish president, face each other on the Oct. 22 primary election ballot. Both are Republicans. Nungesser was invited to attend and agreed to participate but then canceled citing a scheduling conflict.

Former Gov. Edwin Edwards will speak to the Press Club at noon Monday, Sept. 19.

Edwards will discuss the Oct. 22nd primary, reflect on his five campaigns for governor and discuss his activities since being released from federal prison this year.

Former LSU basketball coach Dale Brown will speak to the Press Club at noon Monday, Sept. 12.

Brown, who coached LSU for 25 years and led his teams to four SEC titles and two Final Four appearances, will discuss responsibilities of college athletes, administrators and the NCAA. His statements come in response to major NCAA violations and sanctions at several prominent universities and controversy at LSU related to the suspension of quarterback Jordan Jefferson.
