President of the Louisiana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics Stewart Gordon and Academy Member-at-Large John Vanchiere will speak to the Baton Rouge Press Club at noon Monday, Feb. 28.

The men will discuss where Louisiana ranks in terms of pediatric health, the current challenges to the state’s pediatric health system, and potential solutions to those challenges.

Press Club meets on Mondays at De La Ronde Hall, which is located at 320 Third St. in downtown Baton Rouge. Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $12 for members and $15 for non-members. The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and members of the news media are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program


Press Club will not meet Feb. 21 in honor of President's Day

The Baton Rouge Press Club will not meet Monday, Feb. 21, in honor of President’s Day.

The Press Club will meet again on Monday, Feb. 28, when representatives from the Louisiana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics are slated to speak about the way healthcare is delivered to children in the state.

Press Club meetings are at noon on Mondays at De La Ronde Hall, which is located at 320 Third St. in downtown Baton Rouge. Lunch is $12 for members and $15 for non-members. The public is invited.


Members of Blueprint Louisiana to Speak at Press Club Feb. 14

Blueprint Louisiana Chairman Bill Fenstermaker along with fellow board members Jimmy Maurin, Clay Allen and Dr. Phillip Rozeman will speak to the Baton Rouge Press Club at noon Monday, Feb. 14.

The men will unveil Blueprint’s new list of policy recommendations focused on Louisiana’s budget challenges for Fiscal Year 2012. Established in 2006, Blueprint Louisiana is a citizen-driven effort to identify and implement essential changes to fundamentally improve Louisiana. The nonpartisan effort is led and supported by community and business leaders from across the state.

National Association of Home Builders Senior Economist Elliot Eisenberg will speak to the Baton Rouge Press Club at noon Monday, Feb. 7.

Eisenberg will discus the impact of housing on the economy of the greater Baton Rouge area, including how the industry is likely to affect local businesses in various economic sectors.
