Baton Rouge Area Chamber President, CEO Adam Knapp to speak at Jan. 31 Press Club

Adam Knapp, president and CEO of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, will speak to the Baton Rouge Press Club at noon Monday, Jan. 31.

Knapp will recap the economic development wins for 2010, profile the highlights of the Campaign for a Greater Baton Rouge, and look ahead to The Creative Capital Agenda, the chamber’s new five-year strategic plan for 2011.

Knapp also will discuss the importance of foreign direct investment, entrepreneurship and innovation, and talent development to the Capital Region’s continued economic development success.

Press Club meets on Mondays at De La Ronde Hall, which is located at 320 Third St. in downtown Baton Rouge.

Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $12 for members and $15 for non-members.

LSU Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost John Maxwell Hamilton will speak to the Baton Rouge Press Club at noon Monday, Jan. 24.

Hamilton will discuss the ways in which cuts to higher education have affected and will continue to affect Louisiana and its flagship university.

The Baton Rouge Press Club will not meet Monday, Jan. 17 because of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

The Press Club will meet again on Monday, Jan. 24, when LSU Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost John M. Hamilton is slated to speak.

Press Club meetings are at noon on Mondays at De La Ronde Hall, which is located at 320 Third St. in downtown Baton Rouge.

Chairman of the Louisiana Bicentennial Commission Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré to Speak at Jan. 10 Press Club

Chairman of The Louisiana Bicentennial Commission Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré will speak at the Baton Rouge Press Club meeting at noon Monday, Jan. 10.

Honoré will discuss the commission’s preliminary plans to celebrate Louisiana’s 200th birthday.
