Education Superintendent Cade Brumley will speak at June 5 Press Club

Cade Brumley, Louisiana Superintendent of Education, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, June 5. Brumley will discuss the state of our schools 2022-2023, a legislative review, and priority areas of early childhood education, literacy, math, reimagining high school and school choice.

Press Club meets on Mondays in the ballroom at Drusilla Place Catering, which is located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. Lunch, which is a sit-down meal served at 12:15 p.m., is $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

No Press Club on May 29

The Press Club of Baton Rouge will not meet on Monday, May 29, because of the Memorial Day holiday. Weekly luncheon meetings will resume on June 5 at Drusilla Place Catering, which is located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. The speaker will be Cade Brumley, Louisiana’s superintendent of education.


RESET Louisiana’s Future group will speak at Press Club on May 22

Leaders of the Council for a Better Louisiana, the Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana and the Committee of 100 for Economic Development will speak at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, May 22. They will present the latest recommendations for RESET Louisiana’s Future, a group collaboration that aims to educate the public and candidates for office ahead of the upcoming election on data and recommendations involving education, state finances, public safety and infrastructure. The organization was formed ahead of the 2019 elections.

Gabriel Morley, CEO of the Southwest Louisiana Area Health Education Center and administrator of Navigators for a Healthy Louisiana, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, May 15. Morley will talk about changes in Medicaid and how his group can help people find health coverage options.

Jill Kidder, president and CEO of Visit Baton Rouge, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, May 8. Kidder will talk about her organization’s role in economic and community development.
