The Baton Rouge Press Club will not meet Monday, Sept. 5 because of the Labor Day holiday.

The Press Club will meet again on Monday, Sept. 12.

Press Club meets on Mondays at De La Ronde Hall, which is located at 320 Third St. in downtown Baton Rouge. Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $12 for members and $15 for non-members.

The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and members of the news media are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program.


Concert cellist and technology entrepreneur Margo Drakos to speak at Aug. 29 Press Club

Concert cellist and technology entrepreneur Margo Drakos will speak to the Baton Rouge Press Club at noon Monday, Aug. 29.

Drakos, co-founder and chief operating officer of InstantEncore, will discuss the impact of technology on the arts, culture, performances and community as well as how musicians and arts organizations operate in the 21st century.

State Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon to Speak at Aug. 22 Press Club

State Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon will speak to the Baton Rouge Press Club at noon Monday, Aug. 22.

Donelon will discuss a recent tragedy that took the lives of two insurance fraud investigators and how the agency is protecting such investigators while still enforcing the state’s insurance laws.

Chris Stelly, newly appointed director of Louisiana Entertainment — the state office charged with promoting Louisiana’s film, music, theater and digital media industries — will speak to the Baton Rouge Press Club at noon Monday, Aug. 15.

Stelly will discuss this growing sector of Louisiana’s economy and the future direction of his office.
