Louisiana Budget Project officials will speak at Press Club on May 2

Officials from the Louisiana Budget Project will be the guest speakers at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, May 2. Jan Moller, executive director, is scheduled to testify before the Legislature that morning. But pinch hitting for him, if necessary, will be deputy executive director Stacey Roussel and public affairs director Davante Lewis. They will discuss the state budget, the post-pandemic changes to the Medicaid program and predatory payday lending.

Press Club meets on Mondays in the ballroom at the Drusilla Seafood Restaurant, which is located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. Lunch, which is a sit-down meal served at noon, is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

He will speak about “Why the Bridge Now,” explaining the merits of the Edwards administration plan to set aside $500 million in a special fund as a commitment to a new Mississippi River bridge.

Paul Arrigo, president and CEO of Visit Baton Rouge, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, April 11. He will speak about upcoming events in the Capital area and also the results of a recent study to determine what can be done to make Red Stick more attractive to visitors from out of state.
