Louisiana Secretary of State Tom Schedler will speak at the Baton Rouge Press Club on Monday, Nov. 5.

Schedler will discuss voter turnout and trends as well as how to properly prep for election day.

Press Club meets on Mondays at the De La Ronde Hall in downtown Baton Rouge at 320 Third St. Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers.

Earl Heard, author of “Sports Legends and Heroes,” will speak at the Baton Rouge Press Club on Monday, Oct. 29.

Heard will discuss his book, which focuses more on what the athletes have done with their overall lives than wins, scores and championships.

The Baton Rouge Press Club will host a debate for U.S. Representative 3rd Congressional District candidates on Monday, October 22.

Candidates Jeff Landry, R-New Iberia; Bryan Barrilleaux, R-Lake Charles; and Jim Stark, Libertarian-Lake Charles will be in attendance.

Charles Boustany Jr., R-Lafayette, and Ron Richard, D-Lake Charles were invited but had previous engagements.

The Baton Rouge Press Club is hosting a debate for U.S. Representative 6th Congressional District candidates on Monday, October 8.

Candidates Rufus Holt Craig Jr., Libertarian-Baton Rouge, and Richard “RPT” Torregano, no party-Baton Rouge, will be in attendance.

Incumbent William “Bill” Cassidy, R-Baton Rouge, was invited to participate in the debate but declined.
