Attorney William Most will speak at April 27 Press Club

Attorney William Most will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, April 27. He will address developments in his clients’ lawsuit challenge to the legality of a taxing district established to finance a proposed $500 million dollar arena on the LSU campus. Most is responding to a Press Club presentation touting the arena from Chris Meyer of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation and Jill Kidder of Visit Baton Rouge.

Press Club meets on Mondays in the ballroom at Drusilla Place Catering, which is located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. Lunch, which is a sit-down meal, costs $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. The speaker begins at 12:15 p.m. The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and reporters are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer period. Adjournment is at 1 p.m.

Press Club will host candidate forum for Louisiana Supreme Court seat on April 20

The Press Club of Baton Rouge will host a forum for the two candidates vying for the 1st District Louisiana Supreme Court seat on Monday, April 20, at noon. They are Billy Burris, a district court judge in Louisiana’s 22nd Judicial District, and Blair Downing Edwards, an appellate judge in the 1st Circuit Court of Appeal 3rd District. Both are Republicans, which means the winner will be decided during the primary election on May 16.

The forum will be from noon to 1 p.m. at Drusilla Place Catering, which is located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and news reporters are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program. Local chiropractor will talk about brain injury care at April 13 Press Club meeting

Ron McMorris, Doctor of Chiropractic Care and Certified Chiropractic Neurology Specialist, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, April 13. He will talk about the advanced multidisciplinary care for brain injury patients now recognized and available in Louisiana.
