Lauren Lambert-Tompkins with the Baton Rouge Blues Festival will speak at Press Club April 1

Lauren Lambert-Tompkins, executive director of the Baton Rouge Blues Festival and Foundation, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, April 1. She will talk about the growth of the festival and what to expect this year. She will be joined by blues musician Kenny Neal, one of the headliners on this year’s lineup.

Press Club meets on Mondays in the ballroom at Drusilla Place Catering, located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. Lunch, which is a sit-down meal served at 12:15 p.m., is $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

Andrew Hundley, executive director of the Louisiana Parole Project, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, March 25. He will talk about how the prisoner reentry landscape has evolved in Louisiana over the past several years and how the Parole Project’s second chance hiring initiative is working to ensure people leaving prison are paired with employers who are seeking to address their workforce needs.

State Sen. Cleo Fields will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, March 18. He will talk about the Legislative Session, new laws resulting from the special sessions and the new congressional district.

The Press Club of Baton Rouge will not meet on Monday, March 11, because of the start of the Legislative Session. Meetings will resume the following Monday, March 18, with Louisiana Sen. Cleo Fields as the guest speaker.
