Build Baton Rouge CEO Chris Tyson will speak at Nov. 1 Press Club

Chris Tyson, CEO of Build Baton Rouge, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Nov. 1. He will give an update on current projects as well as tell what’s ahead for the organization.

Press Club meets on Mondays in the ballroom at the Drusilla Seafood Restaurant, which is located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. Lunch, which is a sit-down meal served at noon, is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and news reporters are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program.

Louisiana Parole Project official will speak at Press Club on Oct.25

Andrew Hundley, executive director of the Louisiana Parole Project, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Oct.25. He will discuss the organization’s work on behalf of persons who have served extreme sentences, and the newest initiative, the Forgotten Men Project. The nonprofit organization has helped more than 200 men and women who spent decades in prison rebuild their lives.

State Sen. Rick Ward, chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Oct. 18. He will discuss legislative concerns with communications following the storm and infrastructure priorities moving forward.

Louisiana Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Oct. 11. Dardenne will talk about the American Rescue Plan, the Ceasars Superdome and expanding access to broadband.
