CABL’s Barry Erwin will speak at May 20 Press Club

Barry Erwin, president and CEO of the Council for a Better Louisiana (CABL), will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, May 20. He will discuss the current legislative session and CABL interests.

Press Club meets on Mondays in the ballroom at Drusilla Place Catering, which is located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. Lunch, which is a sit-down meal served at 12:15 p.m., is $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and news reporters are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program.


Child advocate Libbie Sonnier will speak at May 13 Press Club

Libbie Sonnier, executive director of the Louisiana Policy Institute for Children, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, May 13. She will speak about how early care and education help support Louisiana’s workforce and economy.

PAR President Steven Procopio will speak at May 6 Press Club

Steven Procopio, president of the Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana (PAR), will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, May 6. He will speak about the potential upcoming constitutional convention and the effort to give Gov. Jeff Landry control of the state Ethics Board, which last year dinged him for taking a private flight from a campaign donor.
