SU business dean to speak at Press Club on June 2

Donald Andrews, dean of the College of Business at Southern University, will speak to the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, June 2. Andrews will talk about the college’s success in forming international and domestic partnerships and promoting economic development and entrepreneurship. Press Club meets on Mondays in the Iberville Room at the Belle of Baton Rouge Hotel, which is located at 102 France St. Parking is free in the garage off Mayflower Street. Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers. The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and the news media are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program.


Press Club will not meet on May 26

Monty Sullivan, president of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System, will be speaking to the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, May 19. Sullivan will discuss the WISE plan being considered by the state legislature as well as the system’s role in addressing Louisiana’s industrial demands. Alleva will discuss all things LSU Athletics, from economic impact to parking to the expansion of Tiger Stadium. Renee Areng, vice president of Visit Baton Rouge, will be speaking to the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, May 5. Areng will make a significant announcement at this venue and also comment on a record year for tourism, including the Miss USA Pageant in Baton Rouge this summer.
