Councilwoman Tara Wicker will speak at Press Club Feb. 3

East Baton Rouge Metro Councilwoman Tara Wicker will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Feb. 3. She will provide an update on the Community Police Ambassador program, which has recently brought on its second class of volunteers. Press Club meets on Mondays in the East and West Baton Rouge Room at the Belle of Baton Rouge Hotel, which is located at 102 France St. Parking is free in the garage off Mayflower Street. Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers. The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and the news media are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program.

Adam Knapp, president and CEO of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Jan. 27. He will discuss 2020 as a hallmark year, looking at some of the Baton Rouge region’s major opportunities and challenges. Press Club will not meet Jan. 13 or 20, next meeting on Jan. 27

The Press Club of Baton Rouge will not meet on Jan. 13 because of Gov. John Bel Edwards’ inauguration, and it will not meet on Jan. 20 because of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The meetings will resume on Jan. 27 with Adam Knapp, president and CEO of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, as speaker. Press Club meets on Mondays at the Belle of Baton Rouge Hotel, which is located at 102 France St.
