Gene Mills will speak at Press Club on Jan. 6

Gene Mills, executive director of the Louisiana Family Forum, will speak at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Jan. 6. He will address the friction between Gov. John Bel Edwards and the state legislature and the popularity of President Donald Trump in Louisiana amid impeachment. Press Club meets on Mondays in the East and West Baton Rouge Room at the Belle of Baton Rouge Hotel, which is located at 102 France St. Parking is free in the garage off Mayflower Street. Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers. The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and the news media are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program.


Press Club will not meet over the holidays

The Press Club of Baton Rouge will not meet on Dec. 23 or Dec. 30 because of the holidays. The meetings will resume on Jan. 6, 2020. Press Club meets on Mondays at the Belle of Baton Rouge Hotel, which is located at 102 France St.

Craig McClain, executive director of the Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium, known as LUMCON, will speak at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Dec. 16. McClain is a nationally recognized marine, ecological and evolutionary biologist.
