Tarpley, an advocate for the effort to require unanimous juries in felony convictions, played a key role in pushing the issue at the Capitol and is now working to build attention to the issue before voters decide. He authored a resolution adopted by the Louisiana State Bar Association in June 2016, calling for the Legislature to restore unanimous criminal jury verdicts in Louisiana.
