He will discuss the state of the Republican Party following the assassination of conservative media figure Charlie Kirk. Babcock is calling on people from across the political spectrum to condemn political violence and says this death has lit a fire under the Republican Party.

Baton Rouge City Councilman Anthony Kenney, who represents District 2, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Aug. 25. Kenney, a Democrat, was elected as a first-time candidate, currently the youngest member serving on the Metro Council. He began his term in January.
