The Press Club of Baton Rouge will not meet on Monday, Jan. 19, because of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. Weekly luncheon meetings will resume on Jan. 26 at Drusilla Place Catering, located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. The guest speaker on Jan. 26 is Logan Burke, executive director of the Alliance for Affordable Energy, who will discuss the AAE’s activities, including protecting consumer rights as giant data centers, which are enormous energy users, are being built in the state.

Mary Stein, assistant director of the East Baton Rouge Parish Public Library, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Jan. 12. She will discuss the proposed 9.5-mill tax to support the library system over the next 10 years. This proposal will be presented to the Metro Council on Jan. 14.
