Louisiana Budget Project chief Jan Moller will speak at Feb. 5 Press Club

Jan Moller, executive director of the Louisiana Budget Project, will be the speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Feb. 5. Moller will discuss challenges and opportunities in state budget and tax policy and other issues in 2024, including paid family leave and property insurance reform. The Louisiana Budget Project monitors and reports on public policy and how it affects Louisiana’s low- to moderate-income families.

Baton Rouge Police Chief Thomas Morse will speak at Jan. 29 Press Club

Thomas “TJ” Morse Jr., the new chief of the Baton Rouge Police Department, will be the speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Jan. 29. Morse, who was the BRPD commander of training services before being named the city’s 32nd police chief, began his new duties this month. He said he will seek greater transparency and accountability within the department and also tend to officers’ mental health.

2024 Press Club luncheon meetings begin Jan. 22
