She will outline her plans for the city-parish if reelected on Dec. 7. Her opponent for the post, Republican Sid Edwards, a newcomer to politics, turned down an invitation to appear with Broome. The runoff election is Dec. 7, with early voting Nov. 22-27 and Nov. 30.
Press Club meets on Mondays at Drusilla Place Catering, which is located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. Lunch is $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Speakers begin at 12:15 p.m. The meeting adjourns at 1 p.m.
The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and news reporters are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program.
