Guidry, who has been a longtime First Circuit Court of Appeal judge, is set to become the newest Louisiana Supreme Court justice following the Nov. 5 election. The seat Guidry will hold is newly created as a second majority-Black district, giving minorities the chance to hold two of the seven positions. Guidry will discuss the Louisiana judicial system and civil rights.
