Edwin Edwards to speak at Press Club on March 17

Former Gov. Edwin Edwards will be speaking to the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, March 17. Edwards will talk about his future plans. Press Club meets on Mondays in the Iberville Room at the Belle of Baton Rouge Hotel, which is located at 102 France St. Parking is free in the garage off Mayflower Street. Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers. No Press Club March 10 because legislative session starts

The Press Club of Baton Rouge will not meet on March 10 because that is the first day of the legislative session. On March 17, the speaker will be former Gov. Edwin Edwards, who will talk about his future plans. On March 24, the speaker will be LSU Economist John Westra, who will provide his yearly update on the state of Louisiana’s agricultural economy. John Barry – author, historian and activist – will be speaking to the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, March 3. Barry, who is with Restore Louisiana Now, will talk about the latest wrinkles in the lawsuit against 100 oil companies for damaging Louisiana’s coast.
