Jim Donelon, Louisiana insurance commissioner, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Aug. 30. Donelon will discuss insurance issues of interest as we reach the peak of hurricane season as well as the new FEMA National Flood Insurance Program Risk Rating 2.0.

Press Club meets on Mondays in the ballroom at the Drusilla Seafood Restaurant, which is located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. Melissa Kennedy, project manager with parish contractor HNTB, will provide an overview and update on the plan, which seeks to identify flood-related risks and recommend prioritized capital improvements to mitigate or reverse those risks.
