Southern University political scientist Albert Samuels will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Aug. 15. Samuels, who is the chair of the Department of Political Science and Geography, will discuss the outlook for the midterm elections.

The speaker for Aug. 22 will be State Sen. Jeremy Stine from Lake Charles. The following week on Aug. 29, the 17^th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina coming ashore, the speaker will be LSU geology professor and climatologist Jill Trepanier.

Gene Mills, founder of the Louisiana Family Forum, will recap the 2022 Legislative session, assess the midterm elections and the ban on abortion in Louisiana after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the Roe vs. Wade decision making abortion available in every state since 1973.
