Ed Tarpley, unanimous jury advocate, will speak at Press Club on July 30

Former Grant Parish District Attorney Ed Tarpley will speak at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, July 30. Tarpley, an advocate for the effort to require unanimous juries in felony convictions, played a key role in pushing the issue at the Capitol and is now working to build attention to the issue before voters decide. He authored a resolution adopted by the Louisiana State Bar Association in June 2016, calling for the Legislature to restore unanimous criminal jury verdicts in Louisiana.
