Press Club will host forum for gubernatorial candidates on Monday, Sept. 23

The Press Club of Baton Rouge will host a forum for the three gubernatorial candidates on Monday, Sept. 23. Gov. John Bel Edwards, a Democrat, will face his two Republican challengers, U.S. Rep. Ralph Abraham, who has represented Louisiana’s fifth congressional district since 2015, and businessman Eddie Rispone, of Baton Rouge. The forum will begin at noon and conclude at 1 p.m. Early voting begins Sept. 28; the primary election is Oct. 12. Press Club meets on Mondays in the East and West Baton Rouge Room at the Belle of Baton Rouge Hotel, which is located at 102 France St. Parking is free in the garage off Mayflower Street. Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers. The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and the news media are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program.
