The Press Club of Baton Rouge will host a candidate forum for the Public Service Commission on Monday, Sept. 30, at noon. Participating in the race for the District 2 seat will be Jean-Paul Coussan, a Republican freshman state senator from Lafayette, who is in the real estate business; Nick Laborde, a Democrat and newcomer to politics from Baton Rouge, who is a human resources consultant; and Julie Quinn, a Republican lawyer and former state senator from Metairie, who now resides in Baton Rouge.
The forum will be from noon to 1 p.m. at Drusilla Place Catering, which is located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and news reporters are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program. Lunch is $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers.
The three candidates are seeking to replace Dr. Craig Greene, a Baton Rouge Republican, who chose not to run again. Press Club board member Jim Engster will moderate the forum.
