The Press Club of Baton Rouge will host a candidate forum for the East Baton Rouge mayor-president on Monday, Oct. 14, at noon. Participating in the forum are incumbent mayor-president Sharon Weston Broome, a Democrat, who is seeking her third term; Ted James, also a Democrat; and two Republicans — Steve Myers and Nathaniel Hearn. Republican Sid Edwards, who initially accepted the invitation, has since declined. Press Club board member Jim Engster will moderate the forum.
The forum will be from noon to 1 p.m. at Drusilla Place Catering, which is located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and news reporters are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program. Lunch is $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers.
