LSU Prof. Darr to speak at Press Club on Nov. 4

Joshua Darr, an assistant professor at the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Nov. 4. He will address the intersection between media and national/presidential politics. Darr recently visited the Iowa Steak Fry to conduct research on presidential political campaigns, and his recently published research on how local newspaper closures affect partisan politics has received national attention, including on the site FiveThirtyEight. Press Club meets at the Belle of Baton Rouge Hotel in the East and West Baton Rouge Room. Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers. The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and the news media are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program.
