Louisiana attorney general runoff candidate Lindsey Cheek, a Democrat and a New Orleans attorney, will speak at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Nov. 6. Her opponent, Solicitor General Liz Murrill, a Republican, has a schedule conflict and cannot attend. Early voting is Nov. 3-11 (excluding Sunday, Nov. 5, and Friday, Nov. 10, for Veterans Day), and the election is Nov. 18.
Press Club meets on Mondays in the ballroom at Drusilla Place Catering, located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. Lunch, which is a sit-down meal, is $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Adjournment is at 1 p.m.
The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and news reporters are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program.
