Monty Sullivan, president of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, May 17. He will talk about Senate Bill 148, which would establish the M.J. Foster Promise Award Program to provide financial assistance to students who enroll in a two-year public institution in Louisiana or who pursue a post-secondary credential required for certain high-demand, high-wage jobs.
Press Club meets on Mondays in the ballroom at the Drusilla Seafood Restaurant, which is located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. Lunch, which is a sit-down meal served at noon, is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers. Parking is free.
The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and the news media are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program. There will be social distancing, and masks will be required except when eating.
