Aaron Clark-Rizzio, the executive director for the Louisiana Center for Children’s Rights, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Sept. 19. He will talk about the ongoing issues in the Louisiana Office for Juvenile Justice and, specifically, the plan to move incarcerated youth to the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola. Clark-Rizzio’s organization provides legal representation to underage people in the juvenile justice system, including those who could be moved to Angola.
Press Club meets on Mondays in the ballroom at the Drusilla Seafood Restaurant, which is located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. Lunch, which is a sit-down meal served at 12:15 p.m., is $20 for members and $30 for nonmembers. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and news reporters are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program.
