The two gubernatorial candidates have been invited to speak at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Nov. 9. But only State Representative John Bel Edwards has accepted the invitation. U.S. Senator David Vitter has not yet responded.
The following Monday, Nov. 16, the two lieutenant governor candidates, East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Kip Holden and the former president of Plaquemines Parish, Billy Nungesser, have both agreed to appear.
Press Club meets on Mondays in the Iberville Room at the Belle of Baton Rouge Hotel, which is located at 102 France St. Parking is free in the garage off Mayflower Street. Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $13 for members and $17 for nonmembers. The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and the news media are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program.
