Garret Graves, Governor Bobby Jindal’s executive assistant for coastal activities and chairman of the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority, will speak to the Baton Rouge Press Club at noon Monday, July 18.
Graves will discuss the challenge of preserving our coast, marshlands, barrier islands and fisheries in the face of coastal erosion, hurricanes, oil spills, floods, man-made levees, rising sea levels, land subsidence, and global climate change.
Press Club meets on Mondays at De La Ronde Hall, which is located at 320 Third St. in downtown Baton Rouge. Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $12 for members and $15 for non-members.
The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and members of the news media are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program.
