Belinda Davis, a political science professor at LSU, who is running for the Louisiana House representing District 70, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Oct. 21. Davis, a Democrat, is running against Barbara Freiberg, a Republican and former member of the Baton Rouge Metro Council, who will not be able to participate because of a scheduling conflict. The runoff election is Nov. 16, with early voting Nov. 2-9. Press Club meets at the Belle of Baton Rouge Hotel in the East and West Baton Rouge Room. Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers. The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and the news media are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program.
