Attorney John Carmouche will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday, Oct. 27. He will talk about coastal lawsuits, the status of the Plaquemines Parish litigation against Chevron and the path forward, and the broader implications of that case for Louisiana and the country.
Carmouche is a senior partner at the Baton Rouge law firm Talbot, Carmouche and Marcello and has three decades of civil trial experience, specializing in fighting corporations in discovery and trial. He’s the lead attorney in the Plaquemines Parish case against Chevron and on 40 other lawsuits against oil and gas companies over environmental harms to Louisiana’s coast.
Press Club meets on Mondays in the ballroom at Drusilla Place Catering, which is located at the Drusilla Shopping Center at Drusilla Drive and Jefferson Hwy. Lunch, which is a sit-down meal, is served at 12:15 p.m. The cost is $25 for members and $30 for non members. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
